About Exeter Jewelry

Exeter Jewelry started as a hobby-turned-business. It developed from my experience in the engraving and diemaking trade, that I learned from my father. As more and more engraving companies were unable to compete with imports, I decided to make my own unique jewelry designs, and sell them through mail-order, and now, the Internet.

We hope you find something that you like. There will be more designs in the future, so keep checking back with us!

Original clay moldsThis is a photo of the original models in clay, with some plaster molds that are made from them. The clay models are sculpted freehand, and are not the result of any computerized or electro-chemical modelmaking process. This is called "doing it the hard way".

The models are much larger than the finished pieces. Hard plastic is cast into the plaster. Then the new plastic reproduction of the clay is then mechanically traced with an engraving machine to produce the finished model at a reduced size. The molds are then made from this finished model. This is a very brief description of the process.
